Whether you’re looking to start from scratch, want to enrich your child’s life through the study of music, or you’re already an experienced player with a desire to break on through to the next level, you’ve found the perfect guitar/music teacher right here.
I teach guitar, piano, bass, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, songwriting, voice (particularly singing and playing at the same time), music theory, sight reading, ear training, and more. At children’s guitar lessons I stress fundamentals such as note reading, basic rhythms/chords, and simple melodies. With older and more advanced students, my lessons are more flexible, tailored to the student’s musical interests. For some, it’s just learning your favorite songs. Or learning to play/write original music. Others may want to learn how to improvise epic solos, improve their knowledge of chord voicings, or swing with some of the jazz greats. All of this is within your grasp.
I’ve been teaching music lessons for over a decade in Brooklyn, NY, and I’ve learned what it takes to be a great teacher. Talent, understanding, charisma, and the ability to adapt. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to learning, and I do my best to work with students to find what works best for them. Though I have books and methods that I often use, there isn’t one right way to teach everyone. It’s my job to find what method is going to make you the best musician you can be. And with practice, patience, plus a good teacher, you will become the best musician you can be.
